I got an email yesterday from Tim in Melbourne asking me how the album recording was going. He wondered if maybe I’d got sidetracked by the Olympics ;-) Well, no - I have been watching occasionally and hockey starts in earnest soon so that’ll ramp everything up a bit here. However I can report that the album recording is going well. I have 14 pieces now in the iTunes playlist. They are all in an advanced state and if I’m lucky two weeks or less will see the end of the actual recording. I’m mixing as I go along so the final mixes should only involve a bit of tweaking. A few days off after that then they’ll get mastered and sent on their way.

What does this album sound like? It’s kind of future blues, post rock, post jazz, ambient americana. Ha ha. I’m excited - it’s been a satisfying process and it’s emerging from it’s virtual mass pretty much as I’d imagined it !
